R&ILN seminar

03/11/11

On Thursday 3 November, the Restructuring and Insolvency Lawyers' Network co-hosted a seminar entitled "Sports Roundup: A Legal Update" with members of 3-4 South Square and Dundas & Wilson. The seminar and the drinks receptions before and afterwards were extremely well attended.

The session covered a broad range of thought-provoking topics, including the use of administrations and CVAs in the context of football club restructurings and insolvencies, the key aspects of sports disciplinary tribunals, recent developments in relation to regulation of The Football League and the "football creditors rule" in the context of the anti-deprivation principle.

Speakers were Mark Phillips QC, Hilary Stonefrost and Daniel Bayfield of 3-4 South Square, John Verrill of Dundas & Wilson and Nick Craig, Director of Legal Affairs at The Football League.

The audience included members of the R&I Lawyers' Network and the ILA, other members of the wider legal profession, insolvency practitioners and beyond.
