Parliament Listens to the ILA

15/01/14

Links to the consultation papers and the responses of the Technical Committee are available on the Responses to Consultations page of our website.

Our ILA consultation submissions are regularly quoted in government responses, and one was recently cited in the report of a Parliamentary Joint Committee, formed to scrutinise the Deregulation Bill. We had raised concerns about the proposals for a split profession: partial authorisation of insolvency practitioners, enabling insolvency practitioners to be authorised in relation to companies only or individuals only.  Click here and go to paras 210 - 214 for details. We are pleased to see a recommendation by the Joint Committee that the Government should consult further on this issue.
