ILA Academic Forum 2014

23/10/13

The ILA Academic Forum will take place on Friday 21st March 2014 among the spires of Oxford at the landmark Macdonald Randolph Hotel

Early career academics are especially welcome to the ILA Academic Forum: one slot in the Forum programme is reserved for the ILA 2014 Academic Forum Competition winner, who will be chosen by way of the ILA competition.

To enter the competition, an Abstract of no more than 500 words should be submitted to Dr Kristin van Zwieten, Clifford Chance University Lecturer in Law and Finance, Oxford University at kristin.van-zwieten@law.ox.ac.uk together with a short CV (maximum two pages), by 5pm on Monday 6 January 2014. The winner will be selected by the ILA Academic Forum Committee, chaired by Sarah Worthington, Downing Professor of the Laws of England, Cambridge University and Chair of the 2014 ILA Academic Forum, for a 30-minute presentation at the Forum.  The committee's decision will be notified to entrants by Friday 17 January 2014. The winning paper and slides must be delivered no later than Monday 10 March 2014.  Papers may be on any subject relating to insolvency law (domestic, comparative, international, corporate or personal), but the paper should not have been previously published nor accepted for publication as at the date of submission of the abstract. Reasonable travel expenses from within Europe will be reimbursed, and accommodation will be provided. The competition winner will be invited to attend the ILA Conference the following day, Saturday 22 March 2014.

The 2013 Academic Forum in Cambridge was a tremendous success and we hope that the 2014 Academic Forum in Oxford will rival that success. The academic papers from Cambridge are available here and photographs of the event here.
